Light Easy Summer Meals – call for a end of summer special coaching session

Light Easy Summer Meals?   Oh yeah, you can. Ban the donuts. Toss out that cereal. Skip the Oatmeal. I never thought to question the typical American breakfast until I was on a tour in Isreal. Every breakfast was cucumber, tomato, and cheese with maybe a little bread.  And why not? During these hot summer days, a fresh and flavorful breakfast needs to be cold, light and refreshing.

Have you ever thought about how to make breakfast light, refreshing, and colorful? It’s been pretty hot here in the Pacific Northwest. So hot that I’m more likely to skip breakfast if there’s nothing refreshing. Oatmeal on a hot day just does not appeal.

Chopped Mediterranean Salad is filled with color, texture, and a light crunch. There’s just something about eating a bowlful of color and texture with a light snap on those hot days.
Add some crunch or add some protein, and you have a great start to a hot, sizzling day. And if like me, you make enough extra that you get to enjoy it for dinner too.

I showed one on my facebook page: @ramblinlambwellness
Here’s the original: http://www.haaretz.com/jewish/food/1.698731

My twist on this Mediterranean Salad:
Chop up in similar sized bite-sized chunks:
Cucumber
Tomato
Red Pepper
Red onion
Some Parsley
Basil
Add Feta Crumbles
sliced or chopped Calamata Olives
Options:
Chopped Avocado
Gabanzo or Pinto Bean
Can use Black Olives instead of Calamatas

Dress with
Lemon Juice
Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper

It’s so good. And the colorful bowl makes for a happy, high vibration day.

Want more? There is so much to play with to create light easy summer meals. Thinking out of the box is great. Consider eating for fuel. Think about light easy ways to adopt your favorite meals. Save time by cooking once and cooking enough to create several meals. Roast a chicken or two, and prepackage some light combinations of vegetables. You’ll have a nice selection of homemade and prepackaged light easy meals at the ready.  It’s how we roll at the BeWellBistro. Keeping a stock of light easy meals starts with a bit of forethought. Have you ever just eaten something that made you smile? Felt a bit of a buzz? I mean the good kind of buzz when you just have a happy vibe and feel a bit of pep?
Have you ever noticed the colors and textures in your foods?
I was in a coaching circle where the coach claimed that her program would help people raise their vibration. The only thing that was not purely wish craft was the simplicity of cleaning up your diet. But she gave no tips, offered no real nutritional thought other than Clean Your Diet and do my meditations.

It’s so funny how easy it is. One simple little thing can tip your balance to a better food profile. For me, it’s often starting with plenty of fresh produce in the morning.
I don’t even mean a juice or smoothie anymore. I mean eat a bowl of vegetables or fruit. No one said you have to eat bread or cereal for breakfast. Pancakes? Haven’t had them in years. It’s a total misnomer.
Breakfast can be anything.

We no longer live in a world where we have to carb load for a full day’s energy like the hunters and farmers did. It is rare that anyone needs to eat like they are burning off thousands of calories before lunch.

New Super Food: Marijuana heals – Find out who is really behind blocking the plant use

Marijuana! If it’s so good why is it so bad?

New Super Food! Ok, it’s not new at all. And it’s not really a food. Marijuana – Cannabis – a plant that has far ranging benefits. My OB/Gyn mentioned cannabis when I asked about pain management. It’s no joke. It’s not just an excuse to get wasted. There are true medicinal and healthy lifestyle benefits from the mighty green. It’s a super plant.  Cannabis heals and helps people all over the world.

The Magic is in the Flower. It gives flower power a new meaning.

Marijuana – or Cannabis – does a lot of good. It helps a wide variety of people with a wide variety of ailments. It can be recreational or it can be medicinal.  Or Both. Marijuana! It’s time to break down the stigma and learn some truths. And coming from me, a long time health fanatic, it’s almost a contradiction – except that it’s not. Once I learned the truth, studied the history, studied the medicinal uses, it all became clear. It’s a plant. The real value comes when you use it with the right intention.

THE NEW SUPER FOOD!  Marijuana – it does more good than bad. When used with the right intention, it’s becoming the common choice for medical solutions too complicated for medical doctors to understand.

PTSD, Chronic Pain, Inflammation, Arthritis, Nausea, Skin issues, MS, and a bunch of other things are helped with no side effects. Doctors don’t seem to want to know. Less damage than wine, less toxic than most pills, double the anti-inflammatory effect than hydrocortisone with NONE of the side effects, sleep aid, energy, creative stimulus… It’s genius!

Medical Marijuana – A Natural Solution

And yet – the real opposition has nothing to do with abuse or addictions. Looks like it has everything to do with profit margins and fear of losing control – not by the people but by the corporate systems. It’s a threat to a major profit machine.

Weird. When one asks themselves why a doctor would ignore this simple, effective, non-toxic solution, or why the DEA refuses to change the schedule to make it non-criminal, there has to be a profit motive. It can’t be anything else. It’s not weird. It’s either misunderstood or it’s about money. Even when I completed the Anti-Inflammation and Oncology classes at Arizona State, nothing was mentioned about medicinal weed — AND THEY ARE THE FRONTRUNNERS on inflammation.
My recent studies indicate that pot has double the anti-inflammation effect than hydrocortisone.  It helps with PTSD, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, MS, CFS, Arthritis Pain, Epilepsy, Phantom Pain, and some say it can help with Alzheimers….   And NO side effects.

I’d talked with my OB/GYN. I went in for an annual visit. I asked her about pain management because this hip thing is destroying my ability to manage the rest of my life. We talked at length. She’s sold on the benefits, but can’t prescribe? What? Wait – it’s legal. I’ll just go to the store. When Washington State forced the Medical MJ shops to close, we lost valuable resources here. It’s really frustrating. And Fun because I’m learning. There is so much more to this than I’d ever imagined.

This isn’t the same weed I knew as a kid. It’s a sophisticated system of growing, and sophisticated delivery. Plus – I don’t want to get high. Not really. I made a commitment decades ago.

But now I read about the true reasons this plant became a controlled substance.

The Recovery Keys: Finding Steady State

The Recovery Keys:
Finding Steady State

It is the only way out of the dark and into a productive life. The solution lies not in fighting but in acceptance. Once one accepts what is, they can find actions that support a changed way of being a part of life.

The calm of the morning instills the steady state in the heart mind.

The calm of the morning instills the steady state in the heart mind.

When conflicting medical opinions run rampant, when experts only agree that there is no true cure and only guesswork, and no clear treatment…one must take matters into their own hands.

While not one thing will work for everyone, what we have experienced is that a combination of several things works to create a steady state. That’s what Rick needed for so long. The armory of chemical medications that doctors tried always worked for a month or two, maybe three. But never for a full and true recovery. Over the last several months, there are key indicators of what really helps the most.

The Recovery Keys

1) Acceptance is the Key to Life. Trying to force the body / mind into submission of exertion beyond it’s desire is an effort in futility. Go with the moment.
2)Being in the moment means not forcing issues and letting life take you on it’s journey. Keep your goals, but don’t make the deadline something that triggers exhaustion.
3) Make time for quiet contemplation of what you value of yourself and your loved ones.
4) Make time for quiet contemplation of how you can serve.

Kill Your Cold: Focus on Immunity Boosters

Kill your cold by improving your immunity, power up the strength of your immune system and change your mindset. If you don’t resonate with those who have a cold, you have a better chance of avoiding it.  Not sure why, but it’s always a part of the case. Think yourself healthy.

There’s a bunch of stuff everyone thinks works. There’s old school, new school, and everything in between. My plan of attack remains the same:
Lots of fluids and lots of rest. Mild exercise. Avoid getting chilled. High Vitamin C and D3. Lot’s of citrus. Home made chicken soup. LemonGrass Soups and LemonGrass Ginger teas.

Here’s some great juice recipes:OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Cold killer juices:
The Original Blood Cleanser via Nature’s Pantry recipe: Red Beets, Carrots, Lemons, Apple, Garlic, Ginger and Tumeric

Clean Green: Parsley, spinach, cucumber, celery, lemon, lime, apple or pear, cilantro, and add some garlic as an antibiotic

High C: Orange, Lemon, lime, pineapple, celery, cucumber

Seems to me the only way through a cold is through a cold. But when you infuse yourself – your cells – with a top quality flood of nutrient dense anti-inflammatory, antibiotic natural foods int eh form of a juice, you enhance your immune system so much that you can avoid the cold or kill it before it kills you.

Off to the store I go. I’ve got to not be sick. One in the house is enough, thank you.
